ISO's standard for social responsibility is a key ingredient in a new online tool for corporate reporting.
A landscape map of some of the world's leading corporate reporting initiatives has just been published, providing a helping hand to organizations everywhere that face more and more reporting requirements.
ISO was one of eight leading standards and framework setters to contribute, with its International Standard for social responsibility, ISO 26000. By promoting integrated thinking, ISO 26000, in conjunction with the International <IR> Framework, supports companies in understanding and enhancing the value they create for society and for financial investors.
The map was developed as part of the Corporate Reporting Dialogue, an initiative designed to respond to market calls for greater coherence, consistency and comparability between frameworks, standards and related requirements.
ISO 26000 provides guidance on how businesses and organizations can operate in a socially responsible way, clarifying what social responsibility is and helping to translate principles into effective actions.
Other participants of the Corporate Reporting Dialogue who are featured in the map include the Global Reporting Initiative, the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the International Integrated Reporting Council.
